About Ugly Tome

Artist depiction of the original tome author.

One day while perusing a labyrinthine book shop deep within the bowels of the city, Paul Turner found himself in a hitherto unknown section. Fearing he had accidentally stumbled into something like ‘Self-Help’, he attempted to flee. Instead, his unwitting face met the floor as he tripped over a rather large, moldy tome in the center of the room.

Paul ignored his bruised, swelling face to inspect the rather ugly leather-bound paperweight. The book was warm to the touch. As he cracked its spine, a tingle of electricity ran through his fingertips. However, the pages and contents inside were empty!

After purchasing the book along with some cheap sci-fi novels, Paul went home and tried to sleep. Just before drifting off, he was disturbed by a vibrant hum. The book itself shuddered along the table until he slammed his hand on it. Opening it, he discovered strange symbols and depictions inside. Grabbing a notepad, he furiously scribbled out what he saw.

These stories are the scribbles he was able to get down before passing out.
